These days, we could all use a little more time to connect and show our goofy sides; and yes, especially at work!
Penrod did just that last week, using Halloween as the conduit.
The agenda included changing Slack photos to old Halloween costumes (nothing like chatting with clients as a giant bottle of mustard, amirite?), a team costume contest, a Scavenger Hunt, and a daily Question of the Day.
?OTD
Though the Question of the Day might sound like the least engaging, our #random Slack channel was booming all week! We answered (and heavily debated) questions like:
- What’s the best Halloween candy? (Hint: it is NOT candy corn.)
- The best scary movie?
- What is your pet’s and/or your children’s costumes this year?
- You’re suddenly caught in a zombie apocalypse— what’s your choice of weapon and what’s your plan?
- Do you have any creepy stories that happened to you, or any urban legends in your hometown?
With that said, please see perhaps the most important answer to those questions, which is a dog dressed as a bus:

Team Costume Contest
While some teams showed up to their weekly team meeting dressed separately (and impressively, we might add), one team banded together to really show off their HalloWeek spirit.
Needless to say, this team won. Come on down!
Scavenger Hunt
We challenged everyone to a scavenger hunt during their workday, in which they had to find up to 10 creepy items, take a selfie with them, and post them to our #photos channel. At the end of the day, the person with the most (and most accurate) items won a sweet treat that was sent to their house. The runners-up got a little something, too.
Batman, our MVP, was the reigning champ, winning both rounds of the scavenger hunt as the top scavenger! Competitors took fresh fall walks outside during the workday to find their items, but Batman had nearly all of them as decorations. We love a spooky house!
What’s Up Next?
Even though HalloWeek is over, we have a lot to look forward to in the next couple months, and a handful of fun things planned. Keep an eye out for a potential Penrod Holiday Cookbook, Vol. 2
Happy holiday season!
